Abstract

As microbiome sequencing throughput increases, laboratories face growing pressure to maintain reproducible results while managing hands-on time, workflow complexity and costs. Many labs need to scale NGS library preparation without redesigning existing processes or investing in large automation systems.

In this webinar, PreBiomics – an Italian high throughput microbiome sequencing laboratory – will share how it has integrated modular automation into its production NGS library prep workflow.
The presentation will cover how PreBiomics identified repetitive liquid handling steps for automation, how automated magnetic bead-based size selection and clean-up improved day-to-day reproducibility, and how hands-on time was reduced as sample volumes scaled.
PreBiomics will also discuss practical considerations for implementing modular automation in a way that allows flexibility while keeping costs down.

Learning Objectives:

  • Configuring benchtop liquid handling platforms across multiple NGS library prep stages
  • Evaluating gold standard vs MAGFLO NGS magnetic bead-based size selection and clean-up for automated microbiome NGS workflows
  • Practical considerations for scaling throughput incrementally and within budget constraints
